Parent counselling and support

Support for the parent carrying more than anyone sees

A confidential space for parents raising teens or children with complex needs to steady themselves and think clearly.

Service overview

What this can look like in everyday life.

When your child is struggling, the focus naturally goes to them. Meanwhile, you may be managing worry, conflict, appointments, advocacy, and the feeling that every decision matters. Parent counselling gives you a space of your own.

This service supports the parent. It is not an assessment or treatment service for your child.

This may fit if…

Some of this feels familiar.

  • You are constantly braced for the next difficult moment
  • You and your teen are caught in the same conflict cycle
  • Complex needs have changed family life or your sense of self
  • You want to respond with care without disappearing in the process

Sessions may explore

What Jennifer and you can work on together.

  • Understanding your own stress responses
  • Preparing for difficult conversations
  • Clarifying boundaries, roles, and what is in your control
  • Protecting connection while caring for yourself too

Common questions

Useful details before you begin.

How do I know whether parent support is the right starting point?

You do not need to be certain. Choose the page that feels closest to what is happening now. A free consultation gives you space to describe the situation, ask questions, and decide whether Jennifer's experience and approach fit your needs.

What happens in an online session?

You join from a private location in British Columbia. A 55-minute session follows the concern that feels most useful that day. You can slow down, ask questions, and adjust the focus or pace as the work develops.

How much does counselling cost?

A 15-minute consultation is free. Individual online counselling sessions are 55 minutes and $89 CAD. Payment is made by e-transfer after each session. Jennifer can provide an electronic receipt, and Jubilee Cares does not direct bill. Less than 24 hours’ notice and missed appointments may be charged the full fee, with circumstances considered case by case.

See whether the fit feels right

A consultation is a conversation, not a commitment.

If parent support feels close to what you are carrying, use the free consultation to ask questions and decide whether Jennifer's approach fits.
