Parenting, childhood, and family-pattern counselling

Change difficult family patterns without losing yourself

Individual support for adults and parents dealing with old family roles, present-day conflict, neurodivergence, loyalty, guilt, and boundaries.

Service overview

What this can look like in everyday life.

Family life can hold love, noise, loyalty, exhaustion, old hurt, and real joy in the same week. You may be reacting to the family you grew up in while trying to parent or relate differently now. Counselling gives you somewhere to untangle what belongs to you, what does not, and what you want to do next.

This is individual counselling focused on your experience. Jubilee Cares does not currently offer couples or family therapy sessions.

This may fit if…

Some of this feels familiar.

  • The same conflict keeps repeating with a parent, sibling, child, or co-parent
  • You are carrying advocacy, appointments, worry, or the needs of a neurodivergent family
  • A childhood role—peacekeeper, caretaker, problem child—still follows you
  • You want to respond differently without taking responsibility for everyone

Sessions may explore

What Jennifer and you can work on together.

  • Mapping recurring roles and interaction patterns
  • Separating care from guilt, pressure, advocacy, and over-responsibility
  • Preparing for boundaries and conversations you can actually use
  • Making room for grief while building a more workable family life

Common questions

Useful details before you begin.

How do I know whether parenting, childhood & family patterns is the right starting point?

You do not need to be certain. Choose the page that feels closest to what is happening now. A free consultation gives you space to describe the situation, ask questions, and decide whether Jennifer's experience and approach fit your needs.

What happens in an online session?

You join from a private location in British Columbia. A 55-minute session follows the concern that feels most useful that day. You can slow down, ask questions, and adjust the focus or pace as the work develops.

How much does counselling cost?

A 15-minute consultation is free. Individual online counselling sessions are 55 minutes and $89 CAD. Payment is made by e-transfer after each session. Jennifer can provide an electronic receipt, and Jubilee Cares does not direct bill. Less than 24 hours’ notice and missed appointments may be charged the full fee, with circumstances considered case by case.

See whether the fit feels right
